We are upgrading to “Nijiiro-Crayons”!

October 4th, 2011

We apologize for informing you of this so late, but we have changed the name of our organization from “Ishinomaki Children’s Refuge Center” to “Nijiiro-Crayons” since November 23rd.

Shibata Shigeki represents the Ishinomaki Children’s Refuge Center which was created after he witnessed the mentally exhausted children affected by the 2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami living in evacuation centers.

It has been almost half a year since then.

While our activities have been enriched by so many generous donations and volunteers’ efforts, it became clear that the children in the affected area needed psychological support. We have also been asked from various parts of the country to branch out from Ishinomaki and bring our activities to a broader area.

To live up to the citizens’ goodwill and expectations, we would like to keep on supporting the healthy development of children far and wide by contributing to the sustainable growth of our activities everywhere in the future. The name of our program “Nijiiro-Crayons” has been established as the name of our organization, which is a nonprofit organization with clearer social responsibilities.

We will devote ourselves to provide the children with psychological support for years to come. Thank you for your continued help!
